Covenant Youth Faith Formation Fund

For those in attendance on Sunday, you heard one of our deacons, Eric Tudor, share about GSC’s upcoming, “Faith Formation Fund.” Below are a few details about our new program:

In the same way that we seek to foster faith development amongst our adults through programs like the men’s ministry and Apples of Gold, Good Shepherd Church is committed to equipping the next generation for Christian leadership. This has led our council to create the Faith Formation Fund.

Beginning on June 1st, every public school, Christian school, and homeschooled child entering transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade and belonging to a Covenant Partner family is eligible to receive up to $750 annually in reimbursements for faith formation related activities. This fund is to be used at the family’s discretion to foster faith development within their children. Examples of potential applications include summer camps, short term mission or service experiences, Christian education tuition, devotionals, and Bibles.

The church’s reimbursement cycle will run from June 1 to May 31. Funds must be used in the fiscal year that they were requested and cannot be rolled over from one year to the next. As a Legacy partner church, students attending transitional kindergarten through 8thgrade at Sioux Center Christian school will have the full $750 directly allocated towards the students’ tuition balance. Our Christian school liaison, Matt Van Essen , will ensure a timely transfer of funds from Good Shepherd Church to Sioux Center Christian.  For inquiries, he can be reached at mattvanessen@hotmail.com.

Connect

Because the Christian life takes shape within the ordinary relationships inside the church community, we are committed to creating space for real relationships. Through genuine involvement in each other’s lives, we encourage each other to see how in Jesus, God is breaking down divisions between people and weaving the story of his life throughout ours.
